However, there are many ways to make tasty ice cream right in the comfort of your own home. This article will show you three easy ways to have homemade ice cream. The first thing to know is that the ingredients for homemade ice cream are sugar, milk, and vanilla, and ice mixed with rock salt help to make the homemade ice cream.

Freezer Method

The first way that we will discuss is called the freezer method. This method of making homemade ice cream takes the longest of any of the methods, but what it lacks in speed it makes up for in its taste and its smooth texture. First you must start off by putting the ingredients for making ice cream into a freezer safe dish or container and put it in the freezer. Check the ice cream after about forty five minutes, and stir it with a spatula to brake all of the ice crystals up. This process should be repeated about every thirty minutes until the mixture is ice cream which could take about two to three hours.

Make Ice Cream in a Coffee Can

Next, homemade ice cream can be made in a coffee can. All it takes is two different sized coffee cans and the regular ingredients for making homemade ice cream. First the mixture must be put into the smaller of the two coffee cans and sealed. Then place the smaller coffee can into the larger coffee can and pack around rock salt and ice around the smaller coffee can. Close the lid to the large coffee can and shake the cans for about ten minutes. Be sure to check the mixture and stir if any ice crystals start to form but continue shaking until the ice cream is formed.

Ice Cream in a Plastic Bag

The last method to making homemade ice cream that we will discuss is done with a plastic bag. Place the sugar, milk, and vanilla in a small sealable bag, and then place that into a gallon sized bag with ice and rock salt in it. The bags must not mix, but try to massage and shake the bags until the smaller bag of ingredients starts to turn solid. Keep shaking the bag until the ice cream is at the consistency that you like, but do not shake the bag so hard that the inner bag busts.

Today we have discussed three possible ways to make homemade ice cream: The Plastic Bag Method, The Coffee Can Method, and The Freezer Method. Now you can go home and make homemade ice cream with your family all year around.
